OEM parts are designed to be long lasting my last subaru had the rotors turned for the first time at 140K they were still 100% within spec they had very slight build up on them causing a very slight shudder at high speeds with a light touch on the brake. ![]() They are a nice piece, excellent quality, running with great performance, and no-issues. I chose EBC, not cheap, but 1st World(England) company and complete system engineered. You, as the consumer and end user, can research the history and reputation of various manufacturers, and it is easy to see who is for real. They are purpose/engineered in a complete system, or a specialized mfg, like HAWK. To be clear, there are real upgrades out there that can perform better than stock. The same goes for the $49 "lifetime ceramic magic pads". You're not going to replace them for $20 with anything but garbage. The rotors will last 150K to lifetime, if taken care of, and are top quality. They perform and last adequately for 65+K on the pads. ![]() ![]() The OEM rotors, calipers and pads designed together as a compatible system. Miss-matched, non-efficient paired compounds do nothing for you, and could be dangerous. There is a very blurred line on what is truely performance engineered to be a compatible system and with "the auto and chain store crap" out there. Click to expand.I completely agree with the above.
